Pawn Stars cast

Pawn Stars chronicles the daily activities at the 24-hour Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas. The show isn’t scripted, but segments are scheduled in advance so both the seller and experts can be present. The series premiered in 2009 and featured a constant stream of customers attempting to hock their worldly possessions. Pawn Stars immediately became the highest-rated show on The History Channel, and over the years it has also become one of the most successful reality shows in TV history.

HBO was interested in developing a gritty show focused on activities at the shop’s night window. They considered it a logical follow-up to their highly successful Taxicab Confessions documentary series, but Rick Harrison didn’t like the pilot. In his autobiography, he said that the customers were treated like animals in a zoo and that it was misleading about the way he does business. There’s no doubt that the success of Pawn Stars was more than enough for the cast. Let’s take a look at where they are now.

Updated on November 21, 2022:Pawn Stars began airing its 21st season in August of this year. The stars have also created a traveling spinoff show, Pawn Stars Do America, in which they travel to eight popular cities in search of historical artifacts and interesting finds. The first episode aired earlier this month and can be watched on the History Channel.

6/6 Rick Harrison Is Still Living Large

Rick Harrison dropped out of school in 10th grade because he was making more than enough money selling fake Gucci handbags. He always lived to make a profit, and his father nicknamed him “The Spotter” because of his sharp eye for a great deal. Rick is a shrewd negotiator and rarely makes the first offer. In fact, he responds to most sellers’ asking prices with laughter and wisecracks.

Owning the family business and being the popular reality television series star has undoubtedly helped him earn the big bucks. It is estimated that he makes a total of $15,000 per episode. On top of that, he has a net worth of $9 million.

5/6 Corey Harrison Is Focused On Maintaining His New Lifestyle

Corey “Big Hoss” Harrison runs the shop’s day-to-day operations, and he hopes to one day be “Big Boss.” In 2009, he chased an unruly customer out of the shop with a pistol. The incident was posted on YouTube, which helped it go viral and even got HBO’s attention.

Big Hoss earned his nickname when the show began, tipping the scale at over 400 pounds, but after learning he was pre-diabetic, he made some life changes. After obesity surgery, Corey lost close to 200 pounds. He even inspired his old pal Chumlee to drop almost a hundred pounds himself.

4/6 What Is New With Chumlee?

Austin Lee Russell is one of Corey’s closest friends. He ostensibly works at the shop, testing items and writing the tickets. At the age of 12, the father of one of his friends told Chum that he reminded him of Chumley, a walrus sidekick on the animated children’s show Tennessee Tuxedo, and the nickname stuck. Chumlee is mocked for being incompetent and lazy in every episode, with Old Man saying, “Most of the time Chumlee is a couple of fries short of a happy meal.”

He is also the eternal guinea pig when the staff wants to test anything dangerous. Chumlee wasn’t originally supposed to be one of the show’s main characters, but the producers loved him and insisted that he did appear in each episode.

3/6 The Old Man Passed Away 4 Years Ago

Richard Benjamin Harrison Jr. often played the straight man to Corey and Chumlee. He only moved when he felt like it and was frequently seen at his desk resting his eyes. But when Rick asked his father to check out a rare item, The Old Man lit up like a child on Christmas morning. He was always the first to show up to the shop each day, and the last time he took a sick day was in 1994. Sadly, Richard Harrison died on June 25th, 2018, at the age of 77.

His son, Rick, confirmed his father’s passing via Instagram. Underneath a stylish shot of The Old Man, the younger Harrison wrote, “Richard Benjamin ‘The Old Man’ Harrison passed away this morning surrounded by those he loved. He will be tremendously missed by our family, the team at Gold & Silver Pawn, and his many fans the world over.”

2/6 Olivia Black Quickly Became A Fan Favorite

Olivia joined the show in its fifth season. The attractive woman came in as one of the night shift workers. Her addition to the reality program was a breath of fresh air since most cast members were male. Under the guidance of Chumlee, Olivia quickly won the hearts of fans and became the another breakout star of the show after Chumlee himself.

Fans of the show will mention Olivia Black as one of their favorite from the Pawn Stars cast. As she admitted, the gig wasn’t exactly a dream of hers. She didn’t even realize she’d appear on TV. Despite the surprise, she soon became a key figure on the show.

1/6 Danny Koker Is A Businessman Through And Through

Danny Koker enjoyed popularity when his reality TV series called Counting Cars became one of the History Channel’s biggest hits. Fans couldn’t get enough of him restoring or modifying cars every week and then flipping them to earn a considerable profit afterward with the help of his team. His crew’s daily activities on his automobile restoration shop, Count’s Kustoms, were chronicled in the show and made them one of the leading customizing crews for high-end cars and choppers.

He served as a car and motorcycle expert on the Pawn Stars TV show and the Pawn Stars spinoff, American Restoration. With a good head for business, he expanded his investments by having an online merchandise store, a restaurant, and a tattoo shop around Sin City.
