So Help Me Todd is a new dramedy series on CBS that tells the story of a newly single matriarch and her family. She is a lawyer who ends up hiring her son as her firm’s investigator. The two go on various adventures together in the series trying to solve crimes and do right by the people. It is a CBS procedural show, but it is different from the usual ones seen on the network.
Geena Davis was originally cast to play the role of the main female character, Joan, but dropped out during the production of the pilot episode. It hasn’t been said why she decided to leave the series, but she was replaced by actress Marcia Gay Harden. Actors Skylar Astin, Madelin Wise, Tristen Winger, Inga Schlingmann, Rosa Arredondo, Clayton James, and Thomas Cadrot round out the rest of the cast.
8/8 Marcia Gay Harden Was In Mystic River
Marcia Gay Harden is an actress that has been around for a long time and has worked on projects such as Mystic River, The Mist, Into the Wild, and Pollock. More recently, Harden has worked on The Morning Show, Tell It Like A Woman, Uncoupled, Pink Skies Ahead, and Moxie. She is also known for playing the role of Claire Maddox on season two of the series Damages and for portraying the role of Dr. Leslie Rosen in the film The First Wives Club.
7/8 Skylar Astin Was In Pitch Perfect
Skylar Astin got his start on Broadway and played the part of George in the original cast of Spring Awakening. He also went on to star in the Pitch Perfect movies and had a series regular role on the NBC musical series Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist. Astin also had a recurring role on Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, appearing in 10 episodes as Greg Serrano. From 2013 to 2015 Astin starred in the lead role of Brody on the TBS comedy series, Ground Floor. Fans of RENT may recognize him from playing the role of Mark Cohen in the 2010 production at the Hollywood Bowl.
6/8 Madeline Wise Guest-Starred On Single Drunk Female
Madeline Wise plays Astin’s sister on So Help Me Todd and has appeared in a ton of short films prior to her role on the series. She has also had guest roles on various series over the years including Crashing, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Single Drunk Female, and Star Trek: Picard. Wise also did a ton of theater work in New York before she landed the role on So Help Me Todd. Some of her theater credits include roles in Peacekeepers, SMUSHKISS, The Loneliest, and The Outs.

5/8 Tristen J. Winger Was On Bigger
Tristen J. Winger, who plays Lyle on So Help Me Todd, starred as Vince on the BET+ series, Bigger. He also played the role of Thug Yoda in nine episodes of Insecure. In 2017, Winger starred in the comedy series 50 Central, opposite 50 Cent. Aside from that, Winger has guest-starred on various television shows including Almost 30, Brian Remus: Science Genius, For Evan’s Sake, and C.A.K.E. The Series. Winger also appeared as himself in an episode of Growing Up Black.
4/8 Inga Schlingmann Guest-Starred On Law & Order: SVU
Inga Shlingmann plays the role of Susan who is Astin’s love interest on So Help Me Todd. She doesn’t have a ton of acting credits on IMDb, but she has appeared in guest roles on series such as Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Hawaii Five-0. Most recently she appeared in the 2019 film, Life Coach, in the role of Elena.
3/8 Rosa Arredondo Was In Still Alice
Rosa Arredondo plays the role of Francey on So Help Me Todd. She is known for her roles in Still Alice, Babygirl, Bloodbound, and Feel the Noise. She has over fifty onscreen acting credits under her name and had done a ton of work in television. She has had guest roles on shows such as The Blacklist, Madam Secretary, Gone, Quantico, Bull, and Instinct.
2/8 Clayton James Starred In Don’t Forget I Love You
Clayton James plays the role of Chuck Grant on So Help Me Todd, and is known for starring in TV movies. Some of the movies he’s made include Blueprint to the Heart, Christmas on the Menu, As Gouda as it Gets, Right In Front of Me, Don’t Forget I Love You, Love & Where To Find It, The Christmas Retreat, and more. He also had a recurring role as Kevin Townsend on When Calls the Heart.

Thomas Cadrot plays the role of Chet on So Help Me Todd. He has guest-starred on various television shows including The CW’s Nancy Drew, Firefly Lane, Debris, iZombie, and The Good Doctor. He has also starred in several television movies including In the Key of Love, A Midsummer’s Nightmare, and Who Killed My Husband? He also has a role in the upcoming Scream 6 film.
