Whitney Rose is speaking out about the toughest part of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season three.
In a new interview, Whitney revealed what part of the season was hardest to watch back before addressing husband Justin Rose‘s current employment status, sharing her thoughts on Angie Harrington‘s husband Chris’ fake Instagram account, and more.
“The hardest part is that Arizona trip,” Whitney told Us Weekly on November 16. “I wish I would’ve been more aware of how much pain I was in. It was not only hard to live through but then watch how big of a mess I was and then receiving all of the hate from fans piled on top of that was really hard.”
In addition to going public with her childhood trauma amid season three, Whitney confirmed Justin lost his job.
“It’s very difficult. It’s hard for me to not feel guilty or shameful but I’m just myself and that’s something I’ve had to sit with and look at myself in the mirror. ‘I am being me and me caused this.’ So that’s a very difficult thing as a woman to process and work through,” Whitney admitted.
Luckily, Justin, who has not gotten a new job yet due to a one-year non-compete clause in his contract for his former job, has been “supportive” and “positive” throughout the ordeal.
“Come March, he can start looking if he chooses. [But] he’s actually like, ‘Maybe I wanna retire. This is kinda nice,’” Whitney revealed. “In a weird way, it was almost a gift from the universe because it put a better balance in our family. We operate as more of a team now.”
As for Chris’ Finsta, Whitney said that while she “tried really hard” not to let it change her perspective of Angie and her husband, her past experience with trolls made that impossible.

“It makes you think, ‘Is this them? Like, what is going on?’ It was hard. You can see it all over my face. I’m like, ‘Ew. I feel icky. Why am I in a matching dress with her? I just want to disappear,’” she recalled of learning about the bogus account. “He did a poll about me calling me trailer trash. So I’m like, maybe Chris just, if they want to be on the show, he should not have social media.”
Although many were taken aback by Whitney’s new friendship with Lisa Barlow in season three, Whitney pointed out that their past issues were never about the two of them.
“My beef with her was more that I was being loyal to [Heather Gay], who doesn’t like her and so I was seeing her through Heather’s perspective, not my own. Lisa has been a great friend to me… It was a really unexpected friendship but I welcome it and I’m so grateful for it.”
That said, Whitney admitted that being close to Lisa has certainly made it hard to balance her relationships with other members of the show.
“It’s hard to navigate,” she stated.
Also during the interview, Whitney discussed the upcoming third season of Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip, which starred her and Heather, as well as Porsha Williams, Gizelle Bryant, Candiace Dillard-Bassett, Leah McSweeney, Alexia Echevarria, and Marysol Patton.
“There was a lot of bad weather on [RHUGT],” Whitney teased. “Going back to BravoCon, I was so confused because I thought we were in a different place than we were so when she said that I was reaching, I feel like she was reaching because I thought we had made up and I thought we were in a better spot. I didn’t realize it was all just for camera.”
