Yes, we have a female counterpart to previous season’s villain-turned-fan favorite art dealer, Leo Baudy. But unlike Leo, Madison’s reality TV villain status may be harder to overturn.

After her messy pod love square with Alex Brown and Mason Horacek, who was also dating Meg Fink, fans are now onto Madison like they were with Season 7’s youngest and “immature” cast member, Hannah Jiles. The criticism started with questioning Madison’s “artist” credentials. Here’s what she does for a living and some insight into her “immaturity.”

In a Reddit post, a fan rounded up some photos from Madison’s now-deleted “art” Instagram Highlight, including the one on the left side of the image above. Fans were quick to critique her paintings, with one saying, “I guess I could be an artist too.” Another user quipped: “Her art belongs in a ‘live laugh love’ kitchen.”

“It’s not bad, but it’s not good or particularly creative either.. It’s meh, mediocre at best,” someone said of Madison’s creations.

What is “art” these days, anyway? A duct-taped banana even sold for millions, with Leo bidding on it. But for Madison, art may have started as an outlet for her rough childhood. In Love Is Blind, she opened up about growing up with parents who suffered from drug addiction.

Speaking to Alex, Madison opened up about “generational curses” she wishes to break in her future family. “My relationship with my mother’s tough. I still talk to her…when I can. Sometimes it gets to be a bit much for me… ’cause I’ve just had to be, like, a parent to her my whole life,” she said.

The reality star added that she “loves” her mom despite their issues and that she has “a lot of compassion for her.” Madison said she has to remember “the cards that [her mom] was dealt. She didn’t break all the generational curses, but she probably broke some.”

According to Madison’s LinkedIn, she currently works as a full-time social media manager for a company based in Minneapolis, Minnesota​​​​​​. But in the show, she said she quit her corporate job to become an artist full-time, leading fans to believe that she’s lying about her background…

Madison’s Instagram gives off influencer vibes as well. It won’t be surprising if she takes it to the next level after her LIB fame. She now has 18.7K followers as of the first drop of Season 8. It’s too bad, she wasn’t one of the five couples who left the pods engaged (more screen time and all).

Madison may be facing some serious backlash after the show, following her return during the full cast meetups. Speaking to Netflix’s publication, Tudum, she admitted: “Going through the experiment and [being] in the pods, there are times when I felt really misunderstood, and I’m expecting that to happen on a larger scale.”

“That was the deep wound that I had, so I did everything in my power to make sure that no one misunderstood me,” Madison added. “But it doesn’t matter because some people just aren’t capable of understanding who you are — or just don’t want to.” She may be referring to her connections, but it’s a nice philosophy to hold on to when the trolls come.

Madison turned 28 in August 2024 based on her Instagram post. And she is a Leo (make of that what you will). FYI Love Is Blind Season 8 was filmed in February and March that year. Madison is one of the younger cast members. Benji Smith is the youngest at 26, while Amanda Burke is the oldest at 43.

Many fans noticed that Madison “doesn’t seem very mature” in the pods. “Alex made the correct call with calling it off,” said a Redditor, “because in their conversation it seemed like Alex was just trying to stop talking about Mason and put it to rest without ruining relationships and let it go… Madison was extremely combative and kept needing a rebuttal.”

Some fans may have a point. When Madison addressed her breakup with Alex to People, she initially liked his “upbeat” personality, but it “got to a point where it was almost this toxic positivity, and that’s something that I just don’t want in my circle of people.”
