Who is Emily Ratajkowski?
Making her breakthrough on the controversial Robin Thicke music video Blurred Lines, Emily Ratajkowski has since acted in films such Gone Girl, I Feel Pretty and Cruise but is renowned for her modelling work and her @emrata Instagram account.
Born June 7, 1991 in London to American parents Kathleen Balgley, a professor and John David Ratajkowski, a painter, according to IMDb, Emily was raised in Encinitas, California, which is near San Diego.
Despite being shorter than the average model at 5ft 7, Emily embarked on a modelling career at the age of 14 and was thrust into the spotlight when she was featured in the 2013 music video for Blurred Lines and later, in the film Gone Girl, as revealed on Biography.com.
After playing Ben Affleck’s mistress, she appeared as Zac Efron’s love interest in We Are Your Friends and went on to be romanced by Adrian Grenier in Entourage. Taking on a darker role in In Darkness, Emily also played a model with low self-esteem in I Feel Pretty before starring opposite Aaron Paul in Welcome Home.
Growing up without a television, Emily had not heard of iCarly, on which she had her first acting role in 2009 and by 2016, she had starred in a Super Bowl commercial, appeared on the Netflix series Easy and the pilot Bright Futures.
In addition to Blurred Lines, which was temporarily banned from YouTube after receiving criticism for the music video that showed model sporting thongs while Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams remained dressed, Emily was also the featured woman in Maroon 5’s Somebody and Taio Cruz’s Fast Car.
While Emily was uninterested in participating in the Robin Thicke video, after being informed of the female director’s vision, she changed her mind. Ratajkowski said: ‘Like any art, there’s a million ways to interpret it. All I can say is that when a woman is naked, that’s not immediately anti-feminist. I have no apologies for it, and I’m not ashamed at all.’
After being signed to Ford Models, she was photographed for Treats, an artistic erotica magazine in addition to Sports Illustrated and made her runway debut for Marc Jacobs during New York Fashion Week in 2015.

Emily Ratajkowski diet
In an interview with The New York Times, Emily Ratajkowski revealed that ‘it’s about feeling good about what you eat. I do love turmeric and beet juice. It’s so L.A., you can’t avoid it. But I don’t have a trainer, and I don’t really go to the gym.
‘I go on long walks and hikes with my girlfriends. That’s about it. I’m just not a crazy fitness person. I’m definitely an outlier in the industry.’ In addition to this, Emily told Harper’s Bazaar that she goes ‘to Blacktop Coffee and get this pastry called kouign-amann with my black coffee’ every day.
Emily also has a salad or a sandwich for lunch, but told Elle that she ‘really like to eat meat. I crave iron so I am definitely not the kind of person who you will often find eating a plain salad. I like to keep it really balanced to give my body energy and also be healthy.’
For dinner, the model usually uses this time to socialise and orders a takeaway, as she revealed when speaking to Jimmy Kimmel, ‘You should see my refrigerator. It’s insane. I have a relationship with Postmates. It’s basically Indian food and Thai food, preferably when I’m horizontal in bed.’
She added: ‘I cook a lot, so that really helps: You know how much salt and sugar and all of that kind of stuff you are putting in your body.’

Emily Ratajkowski husband
Despite having only dated for a few months, Emily Ratajkowski married her long-time friend Sebastian Bear-McClard in February 2018. The film producer was rejected at first, but the model went on to agree after he made her a paperclip ring.
Speaking to Jimmy Fallon, Emily said: ‘He proposed to me at Minetta Tavern [a French restaurant in New York City] and he didn’t have a ring. ‘He then took the paperclip that the bill was paid with and made me a ring, which I actually thought was really romantic,’ she continued.
Emily and Sebastian were also thrifty when it came to buying their wedding rings. ‘We walked into Chinatown and bought an ounce of gold and he was like, “We’ll melt down the gold and make the rings.”
‘It was supposed to be temporary but I’m not growing attached to it and I don’t wanna get rid of it. I just feel like making it yourself, could it be more personal?’ Their romance was confirmed after they were seen together in December 2017, which also confirmed the end of Emily’s relationship with Jeff Magid.
The son of filmmaker Lisa Bear is known for working on movies such as Broken Flowers, Heaven Knows What and Good Time, alongside Robert Pattinson, as well as starring in The Minority, Force of Circumstance and the short film, Buffalo Wings.
He has received a number of nominations for Gotham Independent Film Awards as well as nod for an Independent Spirit Award. Sebastian also started his own production company named Elara Pictures in 2014, which he runs with Oscar Boyson, Josh and Ben Safdie.
