Alberto Lati Biography
Alberto Lati Mercado is a Mexican journalist and writer. Lati currently works for Fox Sports and host a program called Agenda Fox Sports and Latitude Fox. Early, he worked for Televisa as a sports reporter
Alberto was born and raised in Mexico City, Mexico. He attended his primary and high school education at the Colegio Hebreo Tarbut in Mexico City. Thereafter he enrolled at the Universidad Iberoamericana where he graduated with a degree in Communication Sciences. Lati started his work at Televisa as a sports reporter at an age of 17 years old. In 2000 he was sent to Belgium to cover Euro. Afterward, he worked as a correspondent in the preparations for the 2002 Soccer World Cup in Tokyo. Moreover, he worked as a correspondent in many countries like Spain, Greece, Munich, Beijing, and Johannesburg for the 2010 Soccer World Cup, and for the 2012 London Olympics in Rio.
Aside from that, Alberto has also covered several editions like Super Bowl, Euro Cup, Copa Libertadores, World Series, and UEFA Champions League finals. In July 2021 Lati was announced as a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador for Mexico. That same year, Lati became a member of HYPIA, The International Association of Hyperpolyglots. Furthermore, he was awarded an outstanding journalist award at the World Knowledge Summit 2021 with an honorary doctorate. He collaborates with UNHCR in the #ConLosRefugiados 3 campaign for World Refugee Day.
Due to his interest in studying multiple languages, he speaks Spanish, Hebrew, English, French, Italian, Russian, and Japanese among others. Throughout his career, Lati has interviewed prominent people, politicians, and actors from the countries in which he has traveled. On the other hand, he is also an author who had published several books including” Latitudes”, “Aquí, Borya”, “100 genios del balón”, “100 Dioses del Olimpo: De niños a Superhéroes “, and “Genios de Qatar. De niños a cracks Pasta blanda”.
