Jamie Fleming is an Australian bartender, business owner and chef, as well as a contestant on MasterChef Australia. He appeared on MasterChef Australia Season 6 and 17. He finished 4th on the sixth season of MasterChef Australia in 2014. The Adelaide-born chef returned in 2025 for MasterChef Australia: Back To Win.
After finishing fourth on his first spin around the MasterChef Australia kitchen, Jamie became the head chef at Wilhemena’s bar and restaurant on Darling Street in Balmain. He then ran the award-winning Alba Bar & Deli in Brisbane for five years before having to make the tough financial decision to close its doors. He bounced back to open Spill Wine in Maleny in 2024, operated alongside his partner Clare Hutton.
Raised in Adelaide with his mother, Celia, working long hours, the dinner table was the place the family could come together. He has a younger brother Luke. Getting to know restaurateurs over the years showed Jamie firsthand just how much food and dining has the incomparable power to unite, and he wanted in. Jamie decided he wanted to be a chef at age 6, mesmerised by the kitchen prep in a family friend’s restaurant.
Indulging his love of travel after finishing school, Jamie spent time in New Zealand, Japan, Nepal and India and when he returned to Australia he became a bar tender. Over the years he has worked extensively across the food and alcohol industry, providing mentoring and education for bartenders across Australia.
