In addition to his public service, Nocella practiced law privately in both New York and Los Angeles between 1989 and 1990, and again from 1995 to 2010. His governmental roles on Long Island included serving as the Town Attorney for Hempstead and Oyster Bay, Managing Attorney of the Nassau County Attorney’s Office, and Counsel to the Nassau County Executive and Legislative Offices.
Judge Nocella graduated from Chaminade High School in 1982, received his bachelor’s degree from Fordham University in 1986 and graduated from Columbia University School of Law in 1989.
