Lynne Hoff has been accused of being racist following her Parade Float which sparked controversy recently.
Hoff is the person behind the controversial parade float which has been gaining popularity on the internet recently.
The float was a John Deere tractor towing a manure spreader with the term “The Liberal” in red letters on it, operated by one volunteer costumed as Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, with another volunteer dressed as NDP leader Jagmeet Singh sitting on the back.
Although she has clarified the float was meant as a political satire, the fact that the person resembling Jagmeet Singh wore a turban and a fake beard sparked racism controversy.
The float was found offensive by the Sikh community and has been criticized by many people including Jason Nixon, Alberta finance minister and United Conservative Party MLA for Rimbey-Rocky Mountain House-Sundre, George Chahal, Liberal MP for Calgary Skyview, and Calgary’s Dashmesh Culture Centre, a Sikh community center according to CBC.
Defending herself, Hoff said, “The last thing it was, was racist, if the leader of the NDP party would have been a blond woman, I’d have been in there. It wasn’t anything to do with the Sikh community.”
Apparently B Lynne Hoff is behind the racist float in the Sundre Rodeo Parade and *shocker* she doesn’t think it was racist. She has some other interesting viewpoints too, and is anti- almost everything. pic.twitter.com/MvRiSIMKGH
