According to a source within the Los Angeles Police Department, singer D4vd has emerged as a suspect in the tragic death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas.
KNBC reports that an insider, privy to the investigation, has revealed that the Houston-born musician has not been forthcoming in aiding the inquiry into the teenager’s demise.
As previously highlighted by CrimeOnline, the severely decomposed remains of Rivas were discovered in the front trunk of a Tesla, registered to D4vd, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke. This grim discovery was made on September 8, just one day after Rivas would have turned 15. The Tesla had been towed to a yard near Burke’s rental home in Hollywood Hills after being left abandoned on the street.
The vehicle had been sitting in the lot for several days before authorities stumbled upon the horrifying scene. Police disclosed that the girl’s dismembered body had been stuffed into a bag and placed in the front trunk.
While the authorities have confirmed the death as a homicide, the precise cause remains unknown as they await the results of pending toxicology tests.
Rivas reportedly left her home earlier this year, allegedly to be with Burke, although police have not confirmed that information.
Police say they believe Rivas died in the spring and that more than one person was likely involved in the dismemberment and disposal of the body, KNBC said.
