Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, disgraced music mogul, 55, was convicted of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution over the summer and sentenced today to 50 months, 4 years, and 2 months in prison for those convictions.
Judge Arun Subramanian tells Diddy there is “light at the end of the tunnel” for him and his family. He acknowledges the mogul is in a “dark place” right now, but he will pull through with the support of his loved ones.
“This is a hard time in prison, away from your family, friends, and community, but you will have a life afterward,” Subramanian states.
Also, Combs’ last-ditch efforts for a full acquittal or new trial are denied just hours before sentencing. Judge Subramanian writes in his decision the prosecution proved their case so, “Well, that alone” is enough to reject Combs’ motion, but he goes on to argue “spillover bias” does not apply, as the jury did not convict Combs on the most applicable charges.
Despite initially denying Combs’ request to wear ‘street clothes’ for his sentencing, Judge Subramanian ultimately approves a button-down, sweater, pants, and dress shoes for Combs.
Subramanian required a more structured argument and that his attorneys pare down his wardrobe options before granting the request.
