The father of an 18-year-old Florida teenager who tragically died aboard the Carnival Horizon cruise ship earlier this month has expressed frustration over the lack of information surrounding her death.

Earlier reports from CrimeOnline noted that the cruise had departed from Miami, heading towards the Caribbean, when Anna Kepner passed away on the journey’s final day.

The Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner confirmed Kepner’s death occurred on November 7 at 11:17 a.m. According to The Cruise Globe, the ship was located off Cuba’s northwest coast at the time.

“Everyone on that ship was questioned, but I still have no clarity on who or what is under investigation,” stated her father, Christopher Kepner, in an interview with the DailyMail.

Christopher Kepner mentioned that he had been traveling on the cruise with his daughter, along with other family members including his other children, stepchildren, and wife.

The FBI Miami is currently leading the investigation and her cause of death has not been released.

“The FBI hasn’t shared anything with me yet. I would imagine they’re going to be in contact with me about it – but I know as little as everybody else,” he added.

Following her death, the ship detoured and stopped in at the Port of Miami Saturday.

Kepner’s family described her as a straight-A “bubbly” student who enjoyed “being around people,” and volunteered in her grandparents’ 55+ neighborhood in Titusville.

She also loved being near the water, earning her scuba certification and boater’s license.

Kepner had plans to join the military after finishing her senior year in high school.

Meanwhile, Christopher Kepner, who described his family as “private people,” said he has been trying to avoid rumors circulating on social media.

“I’ve had to shut the world out. I don’t watch the TV anymore. We’ve literally had to stop doing anything to do with the internet.”

Authorities reportedly interviewed passengers aboard the cruise and reviewed video footage, but have not released additional details.
