Officials investigating the murders of four University of Idaho students worked the case over the Thanksgiving holiday and were also spotted at the crime scene again on Friday, Fox News reports.

Investigators believe that the victims were stabbed to death between 3 and 4 a.m. inside a home off campus in the small college town of Moscow, Idaho, on November 13.

The victims have been identified as 21-year-old Madison Mogen, 21-year-old Kaylee Goncalves, 20-year-old Ethan Chapin, and 20-year-old Xana Kernodle.

Latah County Prosecuting Attorney Bill Thompson was seen at the Moscow Police Department at about 2 p.m. on Thursday — Thanksgiving — and departed around 10 minutes later, according to Fox News.

The following day, Thompson met with police again after some investigators returned to the crime scene.

Police and FBI were seen working outside of the three-story home and walking up a hill where the residence is situated. The group then walked back down, slipped on protective covers to their footwear, and entered the home, Fox News reports.

The investigators could be seen examining the front door on the ground floor and an upstairs bedroom. The crew then left the scene carrying multiple small paper bags.

“Detectives continue investigating and will collect evidence,” Idaho State Police Communications Director Aaron Snell told Fox News. “We worked through the holiday. This is a nonstop investigation and will continue to move forward.”

Snell said he did not have any information about what pieces of evidence investigators collected on Friday.

Most students are out of the city for Thanksgiving break and they will be allowed to finish the semester remotely if they desire, according to CNN.

Snell said it would not impede the investigation if the perpetrator turns out to be a student and is away from campus.

“We’re going to continue this investigation no matter what,” Snell told Fox News. “That’s going to be putting together the various pieces and ultimately coming up with the suspect or suspects and then making that arrest.”
