A Las Vegas man who was “having a bad day” and “couldn”t control his damn temper” gunned down a neighbor for blocking part of the man’s driveway with his car — landing him a prison sentence of 21 years to life on Tuesday, according to reports.

Robert Salone, 43, was convicted earlier this year for the October 2022 murder of Christopher “Dice” Allen, 33, after entering an Alford plea to charges of first-degree murder and attempted murder, according to Clark County court records. An Alford plea is not an admission of guilt but a concession that the prosecution has enough evidence for a conviction at trial.

His victim’s mother joined prosecutors in calling Salone out Tuesday as he was handed at least two decades to serve behind bars for killing his neighbor and for another parking-related shooting the year before, which led to attempted murder charges.

“He had no right because he was having a bad day and couldn’t control his damn temper to decide, ‘Today, I’ve had enough,'” blasted Allen’s mother, Kathryn Carter, while speaking to the court, according to local CBS affiliate KLAS. “I can’t speak of justice, because for me, justice would be getting my son back. And now, that’s not possible.”

Salone told the court he was “remorseful” and sorry for the shooting attack, insisting that “it wasn’t planned,” per KLAS.

“I think about it every day,” he said.

In addition to murder, Salone was found guilty of attempted murder earlier this year in connection to a 2021 shooting where he targeted a person for taking up two parking spaces with their car.

“I’ve never heard of someone who became so enraged about a person, let alone two people, double parking, that he would resort to gun violence,” said Chief Deputy District Attorney Christopher Hamner.

After his murder, Allen was described by friends and family as “the life of the party” and someone who enjoys making people laugh.

“[Allen] was very, very goofy,” his girlfriend, Stacie Owens, told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “Honestly, it’s been traumatizing. The whole situation.”
