Georgia prosecutors subpoenaed a Chatham County dentist’s office for records in connection to accused child killer Leilani Simon, accused of beating her toddler son dead and tossing him in a dumpster.

According to Fox 28 Savannah, prosecutors subpoenaed records from Aspen Dental to obtain information about Simon, 22, during any visits or treatment that may have occurred from October 1 to October 5. Prosecutors also reportedly subpoenaed Simon’s mother, Billie Jo Howell, to hand over Simon’s writings and journals.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, investigators found Quinton’s remains at a landfill where he is believed to have been taken to after his body was discarded in a dumpster. Quinton was last seen at his Savannah home in October.

Simon was arrested for his presumed murder in November. She reported Quinton missing shortly after 9:30 a.m. on October 5, telling police that her boyfriend, Daniel Youngkin, saw him around 6 a.m. in a playpen.

She also reportedly told investigators she believed the boy’s biological father took him, but police say the father’s alibi checks out. According to a 15-page indictment, Simon is accused of using an object to beat the victim, which resulted  ‘in serious bodily injury,” causing “cruel and excessive physical pain,” which led to the child’s death.

She then took his body to the Azalea Mobile Home Plaza, where she discarded the toddler in the dumpster, court documents state. During the course of the investigation, she told detectives several times she left her home in the late night hours of October 4 to pay an existing drug debt, statements that are included in the indictment as falsehoods.

Simon also allegedly told several different stories about meeting a friend to pick up Orajel for mouth pain in the early hours of October 5, first saying they met at a gas station. She then allegedly said she met the friend at the mobile home park.

When confronted about having thrown “something” in the dumpster there, she said on October 12 it had been “normal household garbage,” according to court documents.

Another change in the story came on October 31 when she allegedly claimed it was someone else, and not she, who left the house early that morning.

On November 21, when she was arrested, she changed her story once again, investigators said. She claimed she did leave the house for the mobile home park, but didn’t meet her friend there and “did not remember what she had done there.”

Simon remains behind bars without bond on concealing a death, murder, making false statements, and making a false report.
