TEEN GIRL BONDS OUT AFTER STABBING DEATH OF GIRL AT STRIP MALL

An 18-year-old Ohio woman is out of jail after fatally stabbing a 17-year-old girl in a fight at a Columbus convenience store.

The Columbus Division of Police said that Bryanna Barozzini admitted swinging a knife during the fight with Halia Culbertson late Sunday night.

In court on Tuesday, Barozzini’s attorney said there were “self-defense issues” related to the case but didn’t explain, WSYX reported. The judge gave Barozzini a $750,000 bond and ordered her to stay away from Culbertson’s family and the scene of the crime and barred her from possessing weapons or threatening acts of violence.

Witnesses said the fight between Barozzini and Culbertson began inside 161 Carryout on the northeast side of town shortly before midnight. The fight escalated and spilled outside, where Culbertson was stabbed once and left bleeding in the parking lot as Barozzini left and went home.

Culbertson was rushed to OhioHealth Riverside Medical Center in critical condition but died just before 12:30 a.m. Monday, the Columbus Dispatch said.

Witnesses and surveillance video identified Barozzini as the suspect, and police found her at her home in the well-to-do suburb of Westerville.

Police found her there and arrested her on a charge of murder. Her attorney said she has been cooperating with detectives, despite having fled the scene of the murder, according to WSYX.
