A tragic discovery was made aboard the Carnival Horizon cruise ship when a Florida teenager was found dead, wrapped in a blanket and hidden beneath a bed. This unsettling incident took place earlier this month.

The cruise, which set sail from Miami to the Caribbean, turned somber when 18-year-old Anna Kepner was found deceased on the voyage’s final day. Her mysterious death has prompted an investigation by the FBI.

According to reports from the Daily Mail, Anna had complained of feeling unwell on November 6. She returned to her cabin but was not seen again until the following morning. A room steward stumbled upon her body, which was covered with a blanket and life jackets, while attending to the cabin’s cleanliness.

The discovery was made around 11 a.m., prompting the ship to alter its course and head for Port Miami, where it arrived on November 8.

The Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner confirmed that Anna passed away on November 7. At that time, the ship was situated off the northwest coast of Cuba, according to The Cruise Globe.

The medical examiner has not yet revealed how Kepner died.

Anna’s father, Christopher Kepner, previously said that he has been left in the dark about his daughter’s death.

“Everybody was questioned. Everybody came off that ship. I don’t know who they are looking at or what their investigation is,” Christopher Kepner told DailyMail.

Christopher Kepner reportedly said he had been on the cruise with his daughter and other family members.

Meanwhile, the FBI in Miami, currently leading the investigation, has not released additional details and has not confirmed the claims.

“The FBI hasn’t shared anything with me yet. I would imagine they’re going to be in contact with me about it – but I know as little as everybody else,” Christopher added.

Anna’s family described her as a straight-A “bubbly” student who enjoyed “being around people,” and volunteered in her grandparents’ 55+ neighborhood in Titusville. She also loved being near the water, earning her scuba certification and boater’s license.

Anna had plans to join the U.S. Navy after finishing her senior year in high school. She wanted to become a K9 police officer.
