Alan Carr has poked fun at ‘murdering’ his pal Paloma Faith in a tongue-in-cheek moment after the dramatic Celebrity Traitors twist stunned viewers on Thursday.

The comedian, 49, ‘killed off’ the singer during the second episode of the hit BBC reality show earlier this week, leaving viewers in hysterics over his sneaky move.

But Alan proved there were no hard feelings between the two when he cracked a joke about it while out for drinks with a pal on Sunday.

In a clip shared on social media, his friend asked: ‘What kind of cocktail do you feel like, Alan?’

Grinning at the camera, he quipped: ‘Oh, I don’t know – I could murder a Paloma.’

Taking things one step further to prove that there is no bad blood between the long serving pals, Alan captioned the video: ‘Anyone thirsty? love you @palomafaith #forgiveme.’

Paloma shared her own cheeky response in the comments, writing: ‘Mines too salty.’

Fans – including host Claudia Winkleman – were also quick to share their amusement with laughing emojis, calling Alan a ‘national treasure’ for making light of the betrayal.

However, some people felt the joke was ‘too soon’, ‘savage’ and ‘cruel.’

During Thursday night’s instalment of Celebrity Traitors, Alan had to murder a faithful by using the pollen of a poison lily and touching someone’s face.

He chose to ‘murder’ Faithful Paloma in plain sight, believing it would be the perfect cover given their close friendship.

Her reaction to discovering the true identities of the Traitors was filmed for the spinoff show Uncloaked, where she said: ‘Jonathan? The geek. What a p****. I’m happy to lose him as a friend.’

She said of singer Cat: ‘Oh my God, so these people just killed me out of malice because I didn’t suspect any of them.’

Finding out she was killed by friend Alan, Paloma added: ‘These are three of my favourite people. I hope they never call me again, and I mean that. Bang out of order. I feel more betrayed now.’

Whilst Paloma had not responded to the clip during the time of writing, fans flooded the comments calling him a ‘national treasure’ for making light of the betrayal whilst some felt the joke was ‘too soon’

Since leaving the castle, Paloma has reacted to how she was let go in a number of comical clips and on Sunday night she posted another  hilarious video to her TikTok

She shared a short video of herself feeling scared, screaming and running away every time she sees flowers in her house…which turned out to be quite alot

She captioned the video: ‘What seeing flowers feels like after the Traitors’ and ‘I used to really like lilies actually’

Comedian Alan and his fellow Traitors, chat show host Jonathan Ross and singer Cat Burns, were tasked to ‘murder’ in plain sight using the pollen of a poison lily

After finding the perfect moment in the kitchen, Alan asked Paloma ‘You’ve got a hair on your face’ before subtly touching her face to adjust her hair

Alan has had viewers in hysterics over his inability to lie as a Traitor as the star admitted to profusely sweating and needing alcohol to get him through the experience.

The comedian admitted he’s worried about his chances of going undetected by his fellow celebrities.

Speaking to the camera, he said: ‘I have a sweating problem and I can’t keep a secret. What am I going to do? It’s a weight burning on my shoulders, I’m so nervous.’

He even proclaimed he was ‘worse than Linda!’, referring to series three contestant Linda Rands who memorably looked right at Claudia when she addressed the traitors in front of the entire group, causing eventual winner Jake Brown to suspect her.

So far, Alan has remained undetected, although broadcaster Clare Balding already has her suspicions.

The episode ended on a cliffhanger, with viewers eager to see who will become the first celebrity banished from the Scottish castle and Good Morning Britain presenter Kate Garraway potentially facing the axe.

YouTuber Niko Omilana and EastEnders actress Tameka Empson are also at risk after receiving votes from their fellow celebrities, while Traitors Jonathan Ross, Cat Burns, and Alan appear to be safe.
