Kelly Mi Li of Bling Empire fame is pregnant with her first child.
The TV veteran announced the happy news to People on Thursday as the 37-year-old added the pregnancy was a surprise. However, the star had already talked to her partner about starting a family so it was no completely unexpected.
Li is dating a man who lives in San Francisco, but she has yet to reveal his identity, only showing him in silhouette on Instagram.

‘We talked about having kids earlier but we were going to start trying [at] the end of the year,’ she said.
‘So we actually bought a bunch of Clearblue ovulation tests before so I would start getting used to using it, but we just really didn’t think it was going to happen so fast because I’m a little worried because I’m 36, I just turned 37…
‘So I wanted to take the ovulation test and just to get it into a monthly rhythm…’
Though a big storyline on the third season was Mi Li trying to find love, the China native said she actually got together with her beau after filming completed but before season three aired.

Mi Li said she was happy to have found the right person for her after years of searching.
‘My boyfriend is amazing. I literally cannot ask for a better partner in this. And obviously, I’ve to show off about him any chance I get,’ she explained.
She continued, ‘But he’s honestly so supportive, so amazing and I honestly, he’s going to be such a great dad and obviously my mom, my grandma, are going to be able to help me out a little bit more as well. And I have really great friends around me so I’m just very thankful for this journey.’

As for her current cravings, the film producer admitted that she’s wanted lots of sweet and spicy food recently.
‘I don’t really crave sugar normally, but I’m just craving sugar left and right, and then obviously spicy,’ she elaborated.
‘I’ve always loved spicy food but it just…I want to eat spicy and I want to eat sweet.’

The moment: Her mother read the pregnancy test (which reads Pregnant or Not Pregnant rather than using a line system) before giving her daughter a big hug.
Mi Li concluded her announcement by telling the outlet that she’s looking forward to this magical experience.
‘Because I feel like being a mother is an experience in a woman’s life that you can’t replace it with anything else,’ she said.
‘And I’m just really excited to, and I’m ready to, experience that part of my journey and my life and that’s just really it. I don’t know what to expect, but I think it’s going to be good.’
Mi Li also shared a clip where she told her mother the good news. After reading the pregnancy test, her mother asked her if it was true, and she hugged her daughter tightly.

Kelly was previously married to Lin Miao, the founder and CEO of a texting company which scammed customers for more than $100 million by charging text message services to its customers bills.
Kelly and Miao divorced in 2015 following his arrest alongside several co-conspirators.
After the divorce, Kelly started dating Power Rangers Megaforce actor Andrew Gray. The pair dated for five years before splitting in early 2021.
