In a heartfelt moment that would touch any parent’s heart, Coco Austin’s daughter, Chanel, expressed her admiration and love for her mom in a way that only a child can. Over the weekend, the 9-year-old shared a poignant video on Instagram, where she read an essay she had written about her mother, capturing the essence of their bond.
The video begins with Chanel seated at her desk in her pink-themed bedroom, holding up her iPhone to present the heartfelt message she had typed out. As she started reading, she delved into the deep emotions she feels about her relationship with her mom.
“How much longer will I have with my mom? Sometimes that question drifts into my mind,” Chanel began, her voice reflecting the depth of her thoughts. “Not because anything is wrong, but because loving someone so deeply makes you think about how precious every moment is.”
Chanel continued by sharing a mature perspective, despite her young age, on the significance of her mother’s presence in her life. “I know I’m still young, but when I’m mad at my mom, I always think about those who might not have a mom with them anymore,” she explained. “And if something happens, she’ll be there with me. She carried me and birthed me. She stops everything to be with me.”
Further expressing her sentiments, Chanel added, “When I look at my mom, I don’t just see a parent. I see the person who has shaped my whole world. Someone who fills my life with comfort, laughter, and love. That feels bigger than anything else.”
Chanel also thanked her mom in the essay for being there for her and helping her out with her schoolwork. The 9-year-old went on to say that the thought of not having her mom around forever makes her sad.
Chanel captioned the poignant message, “A message to my glorious precious amazing mother!”
Of course Coco responded immediately to her daughter’s post in the comments. “Baby, this is sooooo special to me! Your words are beautiful! I know exactly what you mean,” she wrote.
She concluded, “Will be together not in this life but for the next and eternity. I love you sweetheart,” she wrote. “Also im a very lucky girl that you picked me to be your mom.”
The mother-daughter duo has always been close, and earlier this month Austin opened up on the Dumb Blonde podcast about breastfeeding Chanel until she was six, something she described not as necessity, but as connection.
“It wasn’t like I was feeding her because she needed a meal,” she explained to Bunnie Xo. “It was more of a bonding experience and more of like, ‘Okay, I’ll give you the milk.’ But, it was more like she wanted to be around me.”
Austin said she simply followed her daughter’s lead regarding when to stop.
“She’s not gonna be 16 on my boob,” she joked in her interview. “She’s gonna eventually figure out, ‘Okay, this is kinda strange or weird and stuff.’ And that happened around 6.”
