Discover how Hulu is streaming new episodes featuring the son of Brian Littrell from the Backstreet Boys on ‘American Idol’

The first episode of the beloved singing competition American Idol finally premiered last night on ABC. The newest season sees a new judge, as well, with former winner Carrie Underwood replacing longtime judge Katy Perry. She joins fellow judges Lionel Ritchie and Luke Bryan, and Ryan Seacrest is back for yet another season as host.

The premiere came with a big surprise, as Backstreet Boys singer Brian Littrell made an appearance — not to perform (damn it!), but to support his son Baylee Littrell, who performed an original song to high praises from the judges. (Watch that performance above!)

If you missed the whole broadcast last night, here’s how you can watch the season premiere of Idol, as well as upcoming episodes.

American Idol Season 23 Premiere Date

The first episode premiered yesterday on ABC at 8:00 p.m ET. New episodes will continue to air at this time on sundays.

When does American Idol Season 23 premiere on Hulu?

After episodes go live on ABC, Idol starts streaming on Hulu the next day. So, you’re in luck: You can now watch the entire American Idol season premiere on Hulu. One note, though: Even though this is technically Season 23 of Idol, it’s only the eighth season that the show has been on ABC (after moving from its original home on Fox, where it ran for 15 seasons). So when you head to Hulu, be sure to look for Season 8, Episode 2.

How to watch American Idol Season 23 live on Hulu?

You can stream new episodes of American Idol on Hulu, which is available for $9.99/month. You can also stream new episodes as they premiere on ABC with Hulu+ Live TV, starting at $82.99/month, and also stream with no ads at $18.99/month. Hulu also offers a 30 day free trial.

You can also watch as they air on ABC with Fubo, Direct TV and Sling accounts.

Is American Idol available on Netflix?

Not at this time. Unfortunately for Netflix subscribers, Idol has never been put onto the streaming mega giant.
