The ‘Wicked: For Good’ star dazzled in a bespoke Balenciaga creation at the film’s New York premiere.
Cynthia Erivo embraced her role as Elphaba, gracing the New York premiere of Wicked: For Good in a mesmerizing custom gown that captivated onlookers.
Making a striking entrance at the renowned David Geffen Hall within Lincoln Center, Erivo attended the November 17 screening clad in an exquisite all-black Balenciaga masterpiece. The dramatic attire, befitting the iconic Wicked Witch of the West, showcased a turtleneck design, a feathered cape, and a drop waist leading to a voluminous skirt. Completing her ensemble, Erivo sported oversized black sunglasses reminiscent of a theatrical mask, adding an air of mystery to her glamorous look.
“She’s a Real Witch in Custom @balenciaga by @pppiccioli,” Erivo’s stylist Jason Bolden wrote on Instagram.
Erivo let her outfit speak for herself at the premiere. She did not take questions from reporters because she was feeling under the weather.
“Cynthia is not feeling well and has lost her voice, therefore she and Ariana [Grande] will not be doing interviews this evening,” a representative for Erivo told Variety. (Grande did speak with E! News).
Grande’s look for the Wicked: For Good premiere also referenced her character, Glinda. She wore a strapless dress by Schiaparelli Haute Couture with a black bodice and a full tulle skirt in light pink.
Wicked: For Good opens in theaters on November 21.
