Drake helped his mom, Sandi Graham, ring in her birthday a few days ago. The rapper had his son, Adonis, to help him commemorate the special day.

Drake shared a picture of his mom blowing out the candles on her cake with her grandson’s help. “Seventy-five years,” the celebrity dad said. “Thank you mama for the nine months you carried me through,” Drake wrote to his mom. “All the pain and suffering. No one knows the pressure you bear just only you. Give you all my love.”

Dozens took to Instagram to give Sandi Graham birthday wishes. “More love and blessings,” La La Anthony shared. “Moms are a blessing,” another fan said. “Every mother, one and only star in our life,” the supporter added.

Drake’s relationship with his mom has come far over the years. The celebrity father revealed in 2018 how he resented his parents after they divorced when he was a child. “I was really hard on my parents for giving me sort of a childhood that I had to wrap my mind around as I grew,” Drake revealed.

“I multiple times sort of suggested that they could have done a better job of whatever it was, co-parenting, sticking together, you know, not being so divided,” the artist admitted. “As life takes shape and teaches you your own lessons, I end up in this situation where I don’t have the fairy tale, like, ‘Oh, Drake started a family with Rihanna and this is like so perfect,’” the rapper said of his relationship with his son’s mother.

“I am a single father learning to communicate with a woman who, you know, we’ve had our moments,” Drake told the press. “I do want to be able to explain to my son what happened. But I don’t have any desire for him to like not to love his mother or I don’t want like, I don’t ever want the world to be angry at his mother. Like, we have found ourselves in a situation and we are both equally responsible and now, like, I’m just really excited to be a great father,” the recording artist explained.

“Because I want [my son] to love his mother and I have to project that energy,” Drake told the media. “But I didn’t come from that. I came from my mother being like, ‘Nah, your dad is this.’ But one thing my dad would never speak ill of my mother, ever.”

Adonis is Drake’s son with philanthropist Sophie Brussaux. He celebrates his sixth birthday this year.
