'Shifting Gears' Season 2 Exclusive: Gabriel "Fluffy" Iglesias stops by the garage to roast Jay Leno with Tim Allen

The popular show Shifting Gears is set to feature a familiar face in its latest episode, with Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias joining Tim Allen’s character, Matt, in the garage.

In an exclusive clip from the third episode of Season 2, Iglesias, playing himself, is seen engaging in playful banter and some friendly jabs at Jay Leno alongside Allen. The two are locked in a humorous dispute over one of Matt’s prized automobiles, which Iglesias is keen to add to his collection.

“My mechanic talked me through this bus, even showed me a photo of the engine,” Iglesias mentions. Matt then inquires, “How many of these do you own?” Iglesias, with a comedic flair, replies that he has “about 32,” and it would be 33 if “Jay Leno wasn’t so ruthless at car auctions.”

Both Allen and Iglesias then dive into impersonations of the former Tonight Show host, who made an appearance in the first season of the ABC series and is well-known for his love of cars. Matt quips, “Sorry I outbid ya, I didn’t notice you standing right there next to me,” with Iglesias chiming in, “Yeah, he didn’t see me, the only Mexican at Sotheby’s.”

Despite Iglesias’s persistence and flattery, Matt stands firm, declaring the car is not for sale. In a last-ditch effort, Iglesias suggests an irresistible offer for his fans, though it falls flat with Matt. “I’ll even throw in a pair of comedy tickets, backstage,” Iglesias proposes, to which Matt humorously responds, “You’re going backwards.”

Iglesias and Leno are certainly not the only celebs to stop by the set of the Allen and Kat Dennings-led sitcom thus far. Season 2 Episode 2 just welcomed Los Angeles Dodgers all-star Mookie Betts, and Episode 1 saw a Home Improvement reunion with Patricia Richardson, Richard Karn, and Debbe Dunning.

DECIDER also recently sat down with star Seann William Scott, who shared that on top of the incredible guest stars they’ve already welcomed in Season 1 and just a few episodes of Season 2, he has his sights on someone else stopping by Matt’s garage in Hollywood.

“We’ll never get her because she’s probably booked for the next 30 years but Jennifer Coolidge. Just because she’s awesome. Kat worked with on her show [Two Broke Girls], and we worked together [in American Pie], but we never actually worked together. I think that would be amazing. But I do think she’s just a little busy,” Scott said.

Here’s hoping the ABC higher-ups, Allen, and Dennings can pull some strings to make it happen. In the meantime, we’ll just be watching new episodes as they air. Shifting Gears Season 2 Episode 3 airs at 8:00 p.m. The first two episodes are now streaming on Hulu.

If you’re new to Hulu, you can get started with a 30-day free trial on the streamer’s basic (with ads) plan. After the trial period, you’ll pay $9.99/month. If you want to upgrade to Hulu ad-free, it costs $18.99/month.

If you want to stream even more and save a few bucks a month while you’re at it, we recommend subscribing to one of the Disney+ Bundles, all of which include Hulu. These bundles start at $10.99/month for ad-supported Disney+ and Hulu and goes up to $29.99/month for Disney+, Hulu, and Max, all ad-free.
