Jack Thompson doesn’t look like this anymore! Beloved Australian actor looks completely unrecognisable in ABC series
Jack Thompson had fans doing a double take on Tuesday when he debuted his new scraggly look in his episode of the ABC series The ABC Of.
Posing alongside host and fellow actor David Wenham in the promos, the Australian icon, 82, did a complete 180 from his usual clean cut appearance.
He sported long, grey hair pulled back into a sleek low bun along with a huge, scruffy beard which fell down to his chest and hid most of his face.
It was a far cry from his usual, clean cut appearance with the beloved star usually rocking a completely shaved look you could recognise anywhere.
Jack originally flaunted his new look in 2020 during an interview on Channel Nine’s Today show and explained he was growing it for a movie which was cancelled.

He added there was still some hope the film might resume production after the coronavirus pandemic, hence why he hadn’t shaved the beard off just yet.
‘The beard is being grown for a movie that was shut down by COVID, but we hope to see it come back,’ he said.
‘Shoulder-length hair and an unkempt beard it says in the script. I’m still going.’

It appears Jack is either still holding out hope or has begun filming for his new role as his current look fits the bill for the mystery character.
Jack’s new look comes after he revealed he narrowly missed out on the lead role in Schindler’s List, which eventually went to Liam Neeson.
The Steven Spielberg-directed film was released in 1994 and won seven Oscars.
‘I’d done camera tests, shot a couple of scenes, and then did a whole afternoon with Spielberg,’ he said on Anh’s Brush With Fame, before revealing Spielberg had a ‘change of heart’ when he met with Liam in New York.
