Murtala Ajaka (born 13 February 1978) is a Nigerian politician who was the first runner-up in Kogi State’s 2023 governorship election.

Murtala Ajaka began his elementary education at the Roman Catholic Mission (RCM) elementary School, but later completed his First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) at the Federal Polytechnic Staff School in Idah, Kogi State.

He did his secondary school at Barewa College in Zaria, Kaduna state. He went on to the University of Abuja, where he earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in sociology.

Career

Murtala Ajaka, a former All Progressives Congress (APC) contestant, resigned after losing his bid to win the party’s governorship primary. He was then chosen as the Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate in Kogi state for the governorship election on November 11, 2023, which he lost to Ahmed Usman Ododo.
