Based on Edward Ashton’s novel Mickey7, Mickey 17 follows Pattinson’s character when one of his clones refuses to die.

Early reviews of the film, which premieres in the U.S. on March 7, are quite positive. Rotten Tomatoes‘ Christopher Campbell writes, “Critics say Mickey 17 doesn’t quite measure up to [director] Bong Joon Ho’s best work, but it’s a big, fun, crowd-pleasing spectacle led by pitch-perfect performances.” With Pattinson’s “hilarious” and “inspiring” performance, The Batman actor is experiencing a lot of face time with journalists.

During the London premiere of the sci-fi thriller, Pattinson spoke with Extra. Standing on the red carpet, he explained his propensity for changing diapers. The London native shared, “I’m an expert, like, the stealth nappy when the baby doesn’t even know they’ve had their nappy changed.” He laughed and added that his daughter’s been “the most incredible sleeper since birth” and that he hates “boasting about it.”

With his little one’s first birthday coming up in March, Pattinson added that he and Waterhouse still need to plan her party. “That is another thing I have to do,” he said as he looked a bit overwhelmed.
