Shane Warne’s son Jackson, 23, (pictured) flaunted his bulging biceps as he hits the gym on Thursday, saying working out has taught him ‘discipline’ when he ‘needed it most’ following the death of his famous father

‘The gym for me has taught me discipline at a time I needed it most,’ he said. ‘It gave me a purpose and something I could do everyday.’

Jackson went on to say it has been a ‘way to escape bad thoughts’ and ‘focus on getting ‘stronger and healthier’.

‘I believe a strong body is a strong mind. It also helped me have a structure/routine in my life which I believe is very important,’ he said.

‘You have to wake up each day with a plan or else you’ll just float.’

Jackson shared a heartfelt message about coping with the grief of losing his father back in October.

In a post shared to Instagram, he said that he avoided a path of self destruction.

'You have to wake up each day with a plan or else you'll just float,' he added. As he showed himself lifting weights in the gym

‘This year I could’ve easily gone downhill,’ he began the caption, which was shared alongside a selfie.

‘I could’ve drank a lot of alcohol, gambled too much, quit the gym, ate s**t food and not socialise. Be miserable. But I didn’t.’

He continued: ‘I didn’t because I used this trauma as energy for life. I surrounded myself with good people, went to the gym EVERY DAY, drank water, swam, laughed a lot and was consistent. One day at a time.

In a post shared to Instagram in July, Jackson said that he avoided a path of self destruction. 'This year I could've easily gone down hill,' he began the caption, which was shared alongside a selfie

‘I can now say because of this I am the happiest and healthiest I’ve been. Health is wealth.’

Jackson went on: ‘It costs $0 to exercise, laugh, drink water and go outside. If you do this I promise you’ll be the happiest and healthiest you can be.

‘To everyone who is still messaging me and supports me every single day, It doesn’t go unnoticed and I appreciate it. Thank you’.
