Sophie Turner Sparks Romance Buzz with Coldplay’s Chris Martin Following Peregrine Pearson Split

In a surprising turn of events, Sophie Turner is rumored to be dating Chris Martin, the lead singer of Coldplay, following her breakup with aristocrat Peregrine “Perry” Pearson.

The 29-year-old star of Game of Thrones and the 48-year-old musician reportedly enjoyed a “secret date” not long after she ended her nearly two-year relationship with Perry.

Chris Martin, too, recently entered the singles scene after calling off his engagement to 35-year-old actress Dakota Johnson in June, concluding their almost eight-year relationship.

Although there were whispers of a reunion between Sophie and Perry over the summer, sources confirm the pair officially parted ways after a high-profile wedding in late September. Reports suggest the couple had a heated argument amid passionate moments on the dance floor.

While Chris has been spending the summer in London for Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres tour, Perry has been seen moving on as well. He was spotted at a West London nightclub with a striking blonde who bears a resemblance to Sophie.

A rep for Turner declined to comment, according to Daily Mail.

The reported new romance isn’t entirely out of left field. In a 2020 episode of Joe Jonas’s Cup of Joe, Sophie was surprised with a birthday message from Chris. Holding her hands to her face in shock, she exclaimed, “It’s Chris Martin!”

Chris told her, “This is Chris from Coldplay. I wanted to say on behalf of me and the even more handsome members of our band, have the best day and I’m sending you all my love and I hope you’re having the best time.”

Sophie, holding back tears, replied, “I’m not going to cry on camera,” before high-fiving Joe.

Turner and Jonas married in 2019 and share two daughters, Willa, 4, and Delphine, 2. Their divorce finalized in September 2024. Sophie and Perry were first linked in 2023, but she reportedly explored celebrity dating app Raya before their final split.

Chris and Dakota’s breakup, meanwhile, was confirmed after years of on-and-off speculation. A source told the Daily Mail: “Their relationship has been over for a long time… little things just kept adding up to where they weren’t right for each other anymore.”
