Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse fans ‘went nuts’ over a surprise superstar cameo in the new film.
Viewers were elated when Donald Glover, AKA Childish Gambino, unexpectedly appeared on screen, branding it the ‘best moment of the movie.’
The 39-year old American star is a multitalented actor, comedian, singer, rapper, writer, director, and producer.
Donald plays criminal Aaron Davis, also known as the Prowler, who seeks out two members of Adrian Toomes’ Crew, wanting to purchase their alien-human hybrid weapons.
Taking to Twitter after watching the film in cinemas, one fan tweeted: ‘Childish gambino as prowler thank you @SonyPictures #SpiderMan.’

‘Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino as the live action Prowler BLEW MY F**KING MIND !!!!’ exclaimed another while a third wrote: ‘Childish Gambino being in there for a bit was so great.’
‘Na Donald glover getting his live action cameo as Prowler in the Spiderverse might be the best moment of the movie,’ admitted one viewer, as someone else confessed: ‘childish gambino as the prowler had me goin nuts in the movie theatre.’
‘I just wanna say so muchhh they’re geniuses childish gambino?? If people knewww idk what else is gonna top that this year,’ tweeted one fan, while another added: ‘cameos were sick asf especially that Childish Gambino scene!!’
The actor previously voiced Spider-Man in the Disney XD series Ultimate Spider-Man in 2015 and appeared in a very brief role in Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Donald’s stage name, Childish Gambino, which he used to start his impressive musical career, came from a Wu-Tang Clan name generator.
The latest chapter in the Spider-Man story follows Brooklyn teenager-turned-superhero Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) as he finds himself back in the Multiverse after reuniting with Gwen Stacy (Hailee).
It is here that he ‘encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence.
‘When the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles must redefine what it means to be a hero,’ reads the official synopsis.

While appearing on GMA last week, Hailee Steinfeld said it was ‘incredible’ to be reprising her role as Gwen Stacy and exciting to delve deeper into the character’s story.
‘I mean, to get the opportunity to come back and work with the same unbelievable team of filmmakers, animators – we have some amazing new additions, actors as well – it’s incredible to dig a little deeper into Gwen’s world,’ she gushed.
Touching on what it was like to voice the animated character, Hailee noted: ‘It is far more physical than most people think.
‘[Our characters] are swinging from buildings and in order to portray that, you can’t exactly stand still.’
It comes after producer Amy Pascal confirmed to Variety on Tuesday evening at the movie’s LA premiere that though the highly anticipated Spider Man 4 would be happening.
‘Are we going to make another movie? Of course, we are,’ said Amy. ‘We’re in the process, but the writers strike, nobody is working during the strike.’
She added, ‘We’re all being supporters and whenever they get themselves together, we’ll get started.’
Sony boss Tom Rothman was not as direct as he was asked the same question about SM4, but only laughed, ‘If I told you, I’d have to kill you.’
Kevin Feige said to Entertainment Weekly in February that scriptwriting for Spide-Man 4 was just starting. ‘All I will say is that we have the story.
‘We have big ideas for that, and our writers are just putting pen to paper now.’
Spider Man: No Way Home came out in December 2021 and has made almost $2B.
