Suzanne Somers’ son, Bruce Jr., gave a moving tribute to his late mother during a memorial that was held at the Stone Eagle Club in Palm Desert on Thursday.

The event was dedicated to celebrating the star’s legacy nearly two months after her shock passing on Sunday, October 15 – just one day before her 77th birthday.

A variety of guests were in attendance to help honor the Three’s Company alum – including her husband Alan Hamel, their children as well as billionaire Charles Koch and his wife.

The actress’s son, 58, was the MC during the gathering and also took time to read a tribute for the attendees and Suzanne’s loved ones, DailyMail.com can exclusively reveal.

‘Buckle up,’ he began, and reflected, ‘When my mother talked to you, she made you feel like a million bucks. Her secret power was the ability to make you feel loved.’

‘For the first 8 years of my life I had her all to myself, then someone else came into our life, a new protector and it was a love affair that only fairy tales are made from, and that’s when Alan came into our lives.’

Suzanne had tied the knot with Bruce Sommers in 1965, and later that same year, welcomed son Bruce Jr. However, the pair divorced in 1968.

The Step By Step actress later had an affair with television host, Alan Hamel, and the two said ‘I do’ in 1977. Upon tying the knot, she also became stepmother to his two children, Leslie and Stephen, from his previous marriage.

Bruce Jr. and Suzanne’s daughter-in-law, Caroline Somers, put together the one-hour memorial that followed the theme of Tequila & Tributes.

The late star’s brother, Danny Mahoney, also shared a loving message at the event and remembered a childhood memory with his sister.

‘Suzanne was talented from day one, as a child used to sing Ella Fitzgerald songs and spin in the living room for hours,’ he stated.

Somers and Hamel’s granddaughter, Daisy, helped pay tribute by singing the track, Song For You, which caused an emotional reaction from the guests.

Alan later commented on the special memorial, and expressed, ‘Last night we gathered with family and close friends to celebrate Suzanne’s incredible life.’

‘Suzanne loved cocktail parties and we threw her a great one at Stone Eagle Club in Palm Desert.’

'Buckle up,' he began, and reflected, 'When my mother talked to you, she made you feel like a million bucks. Her secret power was the ability to make you feel loved'

Hamel wore a white suit which was paired with a pink shirt underneath – Suzanne’s favorite color. Pink roses were also placed on top of each table at the outdoor venue.

Those who attended were notably given a holiday candle that contained the actress’s favorite scent called Floating Gardenia.

They were also gifted her LOVE bracelet that had a quote from Somers that read: ‘It’s not who you are. It’s not what you have. It’s not what you do. It’d only about who you love and who loves you…and I love you.’

The invitation and program had a beautiful illustration of the late star that was designed by Leslie Hamel and contained the text ‘Suzanne Our Brightest Star’ on the bottom.

Inside was a stunning photo of a smiling Somers as well as a detailed list of what the memorial would entail.

Guests and loved ones also enjoyed a buffet-styled dinner and videos of Suzanne during the special event played on a large screen, including moments from her lustrous career.

Somers’ publicist R. Couri Hay informed People that Suzanne’s husband, Alan, ‘was remarkably gregarious and welcoming.’

‘It was a beautiful and extremely authentic evening filled with personal reminiscences, song, and of course, heart-stopping videos of Suzanne singing in Vegas and talking to the audience. It was so moving and heartfelt.’

Hay added, ‘Suzanne was definitely smiling down on us with the stars that came out as the evening went on after the sun set over the mountains…’

A second memorial is slated to be held next week in Suzanne’s hometown of San Bruno, California – and moments from the memorial will be released soon afterwards.

The Three’s Company star had passed away at the age of 76 in Palm Springs on October 15th – just one day before her 77th birthday.

Two weeks later, her cause of death was revealed.

According to the death certificate obtained by The Blast, the Three’s Company star’s breast cancer – which she battled for over two decades – had metastasized to the brain.

This was listed as a her immediate cause of death but other underlying conditions, including hypertension and hydrocephalus, also contributed to her passing.

Somers had been battling hydrocephalus – which is the buildup of cerebrospinal fluid in the brain’s ventricles that causes harmful pressure – for over a year.

Last July, the late actress underwent ventriculoperitoneal (VP) shunt surgery to help siphon the excess cerebrospinal fluid.

According to the certificate, the medical examiner performed a biopsy on Somers’ remains to determine cause of death but no autopsy was performed.

Her time of death is listed at 5:30AM on Sunday, October 15 and she was laid to rest at Desert Memorial Park in Cathedral City three days later.

The star’s longtime publicist confirmed her passing and revealed that she had been surrounded by family who had come to celebrate her 77th birthday.

In a statement, her publicist released a statement that read, ‘Suzanne Somers passed away peacefully at home in the early morning hours of October 15th. She survived an aggressive form of breast cancer for over 23 years.’

‘Suzanne was surrounded by her loving husband Alan, her son Bruce, and her immediate family. Her family was gathered to celebrate her 77th birthday.’

‘Instead, they will celebrate her extraordinary life, and want to thank her millions of fans and followers who loved her dearly.’

Suzanne’s daughter-in-law, Caroline, recently opened up to People about celebrating Thanksgiving without Somers.
