Nollywood actor Taye Arimoro has taken legal action against actress and producer Peggy Ovire, seeking ₦100 million in damages in addition to a public apology. This follows an alleged assault incident that occurred on a film set.

According to a letter from Inibehe Effiong Chambers dated November 18, 2025, Arimoro asserts that his rights were breached while he was working on the movie production.

The actor alleges that his contract had officially concluded at 11:59 PM on November 11. Despite this, he claims that efforts to depart from the set were thwarted.

The legal complaint details that the production manager allegedly obstructed his vehicle, while another car blocked his exit path. Concerned for his safety, Arimoro began streaming the incident live on Instagram to capture the unfolding events.

The issue reportedly escalated at the estate gate, where Peggy Ovire and her team members allegedly confronted him.

Arimoro claims that his tyres were deflated, he was surrounded by several people, and he suffered injuries including a fractured mandible, bite marks, and bruises, he also alleged that his phone was tampered with during the incident.

His lawyers argued that the events violated his rights to personal liberty, movement, and dignity, causing emotional trauma and loss of earnings.

They are demanding a public video apology on all of Peggy Ovire’s social media platforms as well as ₦100 million in damages.

Peggy Ovire has seven days to respond to the complaint, and as of this report, she has not made any public statement regarding the matter.
