Sarah Abo was caught out by her Today show co-host Karl Stefanovic on Friday morning over a suspicious act during an ad break.
After the pair promoted the show’s ‘Free Food Friday’ competition, Karl brought to light Sarah’s sneaky manoeuvre she thought may have gone unnoticed.
‘Gee, you were off and running earlier this morning,’ he told his co-host, who sighed with disappointment.
The studio then cut to footage of Sarah scratching the edge of her right nostril.
‘It is not the Free Food Friday we were thinking, Sarah,’ Karl laughed while suggesting Sarah was picking her nose.
The new host played along with the cheeky joke while fellow co-hosts Alex Cullen and Brooke Boney laughed.

‘I mean, I haven’t had breakfast, what can I say,’ Sarah replied, leaving her co-hosts in stiches.
‘Keeping it Queensland, that’s what we had at little lunch every day,’ Karl added.
Later in the show, sports anchor Alex compared Sarah’s nose scratch to a clip from an episode of Seinfeld.

The scene he referenced happened to be when character Jerry Seinfeld was caught picking his nose while in his car.
‘We have seen a new side of our Sarah this morning, captured on camera, earlier, digging for gold,’ Alex said, before showing the clip.
‘No, no, no, I was not digging for gold – It was a scratch!’ Sarah insisted.
It is usually Karl on the receiving end of Sarah’s on-air jabs.

Back in September, when she was filling in for former Today host Allison Langdon while she recovered from an injury, the 36-year-old brutally roasted the TV presenter for his shocking diet and accused him of ‘bingeing on McDonald’s at 2am’.
Sarah took another dig at Karl back in July, 2022, when the two were discussing Tom Cruise turning 60.
‘I can’t believe he is 60. That’s unbelievable,’ Karl observed.
‘That’s about your age, isn’t it Karl? You look terrific,’ the former 60 Minutes reporter responded while placing her hand on his shoulder.
‘I am thrilled to be joining the wonderful and hard-working team at Today, who manage to inform the nation every morning while also having a lot of fun,’ Sarah said of the announcement
