MSU student-athlete Jayden Moore Death made several headlines after he died while away at home in Waxahachie. 

Jayden Moore was a student-athlete from Midwestern State University who played as a Wide Receiver on the college football team.

The Wide receiver was studying Kinesiology according to the football roster.

News Channel 6 broke the story on December 1, 2022, when the MSU Texas athletic department confirmed the death of a student, an MSU sophomore wide receiver on the football team.

Jayden was born in Waxahachie, Texas, to his parents, Jeremy Moore and Christi Tolbert.

The Spirit Seminar Room is accessible today until 8 pm and tomorrow from 9 am to 5 pm for community members who need a place to congregate, according to an email sent to instructors, staff, and students after Jayden’s passing in the Bridwell Activities Center.

 MSU Counselors and staff will be present.

Our sympathies are with Jayden’s family, his teammates, and all the students, teachers, and staff who knew him and were affected by his life, MSU wrote in the email.

The Midwestern State University’s counselors met with the football team on December 1, 2022 afternoon and his death was confirmed.

The wide receiver competed in seven games as a reserve wide receiver and finished the season with seven receptions for 184 yards and a touchdown, where he has records for an average of 26.3 yards per catch.

The MSU freshman made his first career reception and finished with three catches for 122 yards, including an 85-yard TD in a 52-10 win over Western New Mexico (11/6).

Jayden made four receptions for 62 yards, including a 32-yard catch against West Texas A&M, and his 85-yard reception against Western New Mexico stands as the fourth-longest in program history.

How Did Sophomore Wide Receiver Die?

Although the cause of Jayden’s death has not been made public, Waxahachie Police said that around 7:15 pm on Wednesday, officers were called to the 400 block of Alamosa Drive to check on someone.

 One individual was discovered by Police sitting inside a car with a single gunshot wound to the chest.

Jayden’s body was taken to the Dallas Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy after his death was confirmed in the media.

While declining to give Moore’s name in a press release, Waxahachie PD stated that his death was connected to this incident.

Investigators are currently looking into the circumstances surrounding Jayden’s death, and anyone with information is requested to contact Detective D. Snyder.

What Happened To Jayden Moore?

An MSU Texas student-athlete was shot and killed on Wednesday night, according to Waxahachie Police, a city 30 miles south of Dallas.

Officers got the wide receiver out of the car and began performing life-saving measures before taking him to Baylor Scott & White Waxahachie’s campus following Jayden’s death.

Police authorities said the man died from his injuries.

To mourn Jayden’s death, The Spirit Seminar Room in the Bridwell Activities Center will be open from 9 am to 5 pm on December 3, 2022, for members of the community who need a place to congregate, according to a statement from the MSU athletic department and MSU Texas administrators.
