  • Tour picks up again on Aug 14

Just hours before the event on August 11, 2025, Lil Wayne’s eagerly awaited concert at Toronto’s Budweiser Stage (part of the Tha Carter VI Tour) was delayed due to an “unexpected illness.” The venue posted on X stating that “he is committed to delivering top-tier performances” and advised fans to “wait for the announcement of the new date.” All tickets purchased will remain valid for the rescheduled date.

Lil Wayne performs onstage during the 2025 BET Awards at Peacock Theater on June 09, 2025 in Los Angeles, California.

The Rapper Was Scheduled to Perform at Toronto’s Budweiser Stage on Monday, Aug. 11

The concert, initially set for Monday, August 11 at Budweiser Stage, was among the first North American shows on Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter VI Tour. This tour kicked off in Virginia Beach on August 1 and is visiting numerous cities until October 2, 2025, when it wraps up in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Fans expressed their dissatisfaction on social media after entering the venue, only to find out about the postponement just before the concert was supposed to start. One user on X voiced their frustration, stating, “Canceling at this late hour… when everyone has already arrived, should be compensated.” Another questioned the lack of easy refund options considering the disruptions to travel, babysitting, and schedules.

The Tour’s Momentum Interrupted Mid-Way Through Tha Carter VI Tour

Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter VI Tour kicked off on June 6 in New York City and covers around 36 shows across North America. The Toronto postponement followed six successful performances, with the tour resuming in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio on August 14.

Budweiser Stage assured fans via social channels that all purchased tickets will remain valid once a new concert date is announced. However, Lil Wayne’s team has yet to provide any further comment or health update.

Despite concern from fans, no specifics have been shared regarding the nature of this “unforeseen illness.” Neither Lil Wayne nor his representatives have made a public statement at this time.
