RANTOUL, Ill. (WCIA) — Earlier this month, an outdoor product distribution center announced it would transition to a third-party provider at its Rantoul location, impacting nearly 130 employees.

Revelyst Inc., which designs, manufacturers and houses outdoor products, was a part of Vista Outdoors, before the company split into two. On Sept. 3, Revelyst issued a WARN Notice, regarding its decision to conduct a mass layoff at its Rantoul facility.

According to data shared with Illinois workNet Centers, the layoff will impact 126 employees and is scheduled to begin Nov. 3, 2025.

A spokesperson for Revelyst said that the WARN notice is related to the company’s decision to transition the distribution center to a third-party logistics (3PL) provider, DHL Supply Chain.

As part of the ongoing transition, many employees in distribution positions will be offered employment by DHL, which will integrate both the roles and the impacted Revelyst employees into its operations. DHL is working closely with the Rantoul distribution employees to ensure the transition is as easy and supportive as possible. Revelyst believes this partnership will enhance our logistics and drive greater efficiency, all while creating new career opportunities for Rantoul team members within DHL’s global network.

The WARN Act offers protections for workers, and requires that employees receive a written notice 60 days before the date of a mass layoff. If an employer does not give the required notice, employees may be able to receive damages for back apay and benefits for up to 60 days.

Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a class action law firm, said it is investigating Revelyst, to find out if the company failed to provide at least 60 days’ notice before laying off the employees, violating the WARN Act.

WCIA reached out to Strauss Borrelli PLLC for more information, but the law firm declined to comment.
