HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. — On Monday, an impressive collection of 125 bicycles was gathered on Hilton Head Island, destined to bring joy to local children during the holiday season.
Associa, a residential management company, teamed up with multiple charities nationwide for its annual Big Bike Giveaway, which included events in the Lowcountry and Savannah areas. The Hilton Head Island event took place at Association Services, Inc.
A spokesperson revealed that the 125 bikes, once assembled, were distributed to several local organizations, including the Boys and Girls Clubs of Bluffton and Hilton Head Island, Bluffton Self Help, the Children’s Center of Hilton Head Island, Deep Well of Hilton Head Island, Fairways at Savannah Quarters, the Franciscan Center of Beaufort, and Toys for Tots of Savannah.
“This initiative goes beyond merely giving bikes; it provides hope and happiness for parents concerned about holiday gifts,” stated CEO John Carona. “For kids, a bike represents the freedom to explore their surroundings, connect with friends, or access school, extracurricular activities, or even part-time jobs. It’s a simple yet profound way to make a lasting difference in the neighborhoods Associa serves.”
In total, Associa collaborated with several charities across 12 locations to donate 2,000 bikes and helmets.
“I’m so grateful for the opportunity to join with the Associa family to bring holiday magic to 2,000 families across the United States,” said Director of Corporate Communications and Big Bike Giveaway Lead, Sarah Clausen. “Giving back is an integral part of our employee culture at Associa.”
