DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) — The Decatur Fire Department responded to a “fully involved” garage fire early Saturday morning, and officials are investigating the incident.
At approximately 2:50 a.m. on Oct. 11, Decatur Fire responded to reports of a garage fire. The first arriving engine found a fully involved fire in a detached garage in the 1000 block of East Mueller Avenue. There was a neighboring garage that was close in proximity.
The first engine on scene stretched a handline to protect the exposure while the second arriving unit stretched a handline to extinguish the fire. Other crews arrived to assist with accessing the building and water supply. As a result, the fire was quickly extinguished.
This fire is currently under investigation, which is being conducted by the Decatur Fire Department’s Investigation Bureau. The following Decatur Fire units responded to this incident:
