SAVANNAH, Ga. () – The parents of two students who were involved in a violent altercation at Jenkins High School in Savannah spoke exclusively to about the incident Thursday.

On Tuesday, a Jenkins parent was detained by police after getting physically involved in a fight between students, visibly dragging a student to the ground.

“My daughter was assaulted…by her daughter and her,” Chataura Baul, the mother of the girl who was dragged to the ground, said. “That was brutal. My daughter fell. She had a concussion. She definitely hit her head on that concrete, and there was no way she could even defend herself.”

asked Tameisha Jackson, the mother in the video, what prompted her to intervene.

“What led up to it was, I got a call from my daughter’s phone saying that she was jumped,” she said.

Jackson told the video of the fight outside the school that’s been circulating on social media doesn’t tell the whole story.

She said her daughter had been attacked my multiple girls hours earlier in the gym, and obtained video of that incident as well.

“My daughter’s the one with the red jacket on. You can see all of them attacking her, and the teacher holding her by her waist,” Jackson said.

Jackson said she found out about the incident from her child, not the school, prompting her to show up there.

“My child just got jumped by four or five girls, and I come around the corner, and she’s on the ground again,” Jackson told . “In my mindset, she’s getting jumped again…All I remember is someone’s voice saying stop, it’s a child, and at that point you see me let go.”

Jackson admitted her daughter jumped the other girl in the viral video, claiming her daughter believed the girl to have been involved in the earlier gym incident. She also apologized for dragging the girl down and told she didn’t know the girl was a child.

However, according to the mother of the girl who was dragged to the ground, the two didn’t know each other.

“She wasn’t nowhere around for the fight in the gym, and that’s what I don’t even understand -how did this even escalate? And for a grown parent, I could see if you were trying to break up a fight with your kids, but you went directly to my daughter,” Baul said.

Baul’s daughter is the one who suffered a concussion, and she said she also found out about the incident from her child, not Jenkins staff.

“I never received any information from there,” she said. “When I got to my daughter, that’s when the School Resource Officer came in, but prior to that, nothing.”

Jackson was detained by police after the incident, according to a representative for the school system.

However, records show she was never booked into the Chatham County Jail.

“Justice needs to be served, and it will be served because I feel like this is kind of being swept under the rug or they’re moving a little too slow, but this is something serious,” Baul said.

Jenkins was supposed to host a football game Friday night, but it has since been moved to Liberty County, with Savannah Chatham County Public Schools (SCCPSS) citing safety concerns.

“While there is no active threat, a review of certain isolated student altercations amid other community safety concerns has resulted in the move.  Both teams agreed to the venue change up and the game will be played at 7:30 pm in Liberty County,” a representative for SCCPSS said in a statement.
