JCPD: 1 injured, man arrested following downtown shooting

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — One person is dead after an early Wednesday morning shooting on North Roan Street, according to a news release from the Johnson City Police Department (JCPD).

On Wednesday, around 2 a.m., officers with the JCPD responded to 2412 N. Roan St, where they found a man in the parking lot suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, according to the release.

A preliminary investigation found that the shooting occurred due to an argument between two men that turned physical.

Justin Sturdivant, 37, of Johnson City, died at the scene, according to JCPD.

Jacob McGlone, 45, of Scottsboro, Ala., was arrested at the scene and is charged with first-degree murder, according to JCPD.

The JCPD Criminal Investigations Division is leading the ongoing investigation.
