SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. – Fire crews from Seminole and Volusia counties are battling a 15-acre brush fire in the Lake Harney area, according to a news release.

Officials said they are battling several different fires that are about 15 acres total, but no people or property are at risk at this time.

According to the release, bulldozers are in use and active fires are being contained.

Officials said in addition to crews from Seminole and Volusia counties, the Oviedo Fire Department and the U.S. Forest Service are assisting.

Seminole County fire officials said that you may see heavy smoke in the Geneva area or near there from the fire and that recent rain has made the smoke even more visible.

Do not call 911 unless you see a direct column of smoke or flames, officials asked.
