MIAMI, Fla. (WFLA) — More victims are coming forward after a man who allegedly posed as an Uber driver picked up intoxicated tourists before “possibly drugging and assaulting” them in Florida was arrested, according to reports.

Authorities said the victims are speaking out after “multiple women” said the suspect, 49-year-old Danny Maurad Avecilla, turned their night out in Miami into a nightmare.

“He made me believe that that was my Uber and said, ‘Get in the car, get in the car,’ and that’s it. It looked exactly like the car that I was waiting for,” one tourist from California reportedly said.

The woman said Maurad Avecillas drove her to a motel instead of her Airbnb. However, she woke up hours later naked with multiple charges on her credit card and cash missing from her purse.

She said her body was in pain and suffered injuries that might require surgery.

“I have bodily injuries. I don’t know what they did to me, but like, I have bruises,” the woman said. “Right now, I’m going through like knee injuries that I might need a surgery for.”

According to arrest records obtained by WTVJ, Maurad Avecillas confessed to authorities that “on more than one occasion he has placed incoherent females into his vehicle, transported them to a motel and has removed their belongings to keep them safe from someone following them, or tracking them.”

Miami Police Spokesperson Kiara Delva said the 49-year-old also picked up 27-year-old women and “was with them for several hours.”

“[A victim] told our detectives that it does appear that she was offered some sort of drink from the individual and that she also felt some sort of pain in her abdominal area, so she went to the hospital,” Delva said.

The victims said they “felt pain, their jewelry was missing, and their credit cards had unauthorized gasoline charges,” WTVJ reported.

Uber reportedly removed the driver’s access and is currently working with authorities.

Maurad Avecillas is being held in jail with no bond. He is facing charges of kidnapping and fraud. At this time, he is not facing a sexual assault charge, but police said that charge could soon change.
