GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Charles Strange, Jr., 48, was arrested late last night on a sealed federal warrant; a search incident to arrest also led to charges of possession of trafficking quantities of MDMA and possession of cocaine with intent to sell.
At about 11:40 p.m. last night, an Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy pulled over a car driven by Strange after receiving an alert that the owner of the vehicle had a sealed federal warrant for his arrest. After Strange was taken into custody, a search incident to arrest reportedly produced 5.6 grams of cocaine and 10.9 grams of MDMA, both packaged for distribution.
Strange has previously served a 108-month federal prison sentence for selling cocaine and was arrested last July for possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon; he was released on $10,000 bail, and no further events appear in court records for that case. Bail information is unavailable on weekends.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
