GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Jhoan Sebastian Bravo, 25, was arrested early this morning and charged with stalking and loitering/prowling after officers identified him as the man who was reportedly seen looking into a woman’s apartment on multiple occasions.

The victim reportedly told a Gainesville Police Department (GPD) officer that she purchased security cameras after she saw a man looking into her windows at Third Avenue Apartments in September. She reported that the same man was caught on her cameras at night on October 15 and October 20; she said that on October 20, he was staring directly into her bedroom window. She said she saw the man outside of her kitchen window on October 23 and made eye contact with him; she said that her camera showed him looking into her bedroom window for about 18 minutes on that date. On October 25, the victim said a neighbor confronted a man at the complex, took a photo, and wrote down the tag number of the man’s car.

A GPD investigation found that the car was registered to Bravo’s roommate. On October 27, an officer parked in the complex in an unmarked vehicle and reportedly saw a man, later identified as Bravo, walking through the complex. Officers in marked patrol units stopped him, and he reportedly said he was cutting through the complex to get to Waffle House. The victim reportedly positively identified the man in a show-up.

Post Miranda, Bravo reportedly changed his story several times but eventually admitted it is a “kink” for him to look in windows and “see how other people live.” He also reportedly said he has been looking into windows since September and admitted taking videos of people in their homes.

Bravo has been charged with simple stalking and loitering/prowling, both misdemeanors. He has no criminal history, and Judge Meshon Rawls released him on his own recognizance with a nighttime curfew and a GPS monitor.
