Governor Lee Alerts Public to Anticipated Delays in SNAP Benefits Distribution

Residents of Tennessee should brace for potential delays in receiving their Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits this November, according to a warning from Governor Bill Lee.

The governor has alerted SNAP beneficiaries that they might experience a break in their benefits starting November 1. However, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has indicated that any unused benefits from October can still be accessed in the following month.

In a public statement, Governor Lee remarked, “The delay in ending the government shutdown falls on Congressional Democrats. The longer they postpone reopening the government, the more recipients will face delays as the program resumes.”
