CARTER COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) — A Hampton man previously accused of uploading videos considered child sex abuse materials to the internet has been sentenced after taking a plea deal.

Roy McClellan Jr. was arrested in October 2024 by the Carter County Sheriff’s Office and charged with aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor.

McClellan’s arrest came as a result of an investigation that stemmed from cyber tips. The sheriff’s office reported that he had uploaded 12 videos depicting prepubescent female children engaged in sexual acts.

On Monday, McClellan accepted a plea deal in Carter County Criminal Court. He pleaded guilty to the charge of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor.

According to court records, McClellan was sentenced to eight years in prison.
