ARCOLA, Ill. (WCIA) — Arcola’s Aikman Wildlife Center is asking the public for help in naming their newest addition.
The drive-thru zoo has recently taken in a “Sika Deer” from the Chicago suburbs. They said he was roaming the streets after escaping from his owner.
Good samaritans and a Wisconsin-based deer park located him and brought him to Central Illinois last week. This specific kind of deer is from East Asia.
He’s not viewable to the public yet while he adjusts to his new home. If you want to help name him Aikman Wildlife Adventure said you can visit their Facebook page, and comment a suggestion on their post. They’re looking for Illinois or Japanese inspired names. The wildlife center said their staff will pick the top three names to be voted on in a later post.
