ILLINOIS (WCIA) — The Illinois State Police has issued a cautionary advisory for drivers to be vigilant for deer during the fall months, a time when the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) notes a higher incidence of deer-related collisions.
Statistics from the IDNR reveal that the majority of deer-vehicle crashes occur from October through December, typically during the hours of 5 to 10 p.m. and 5 to 8 a.m. However, there is also an increase in these incidents during May and June as deer migrate to different locations.
