KINGSPORT, Tenn. (WJHL) — An attempted murder suspect led Kingsport police on a chase that ended in a crash with injuries Thursday night, according to the Kingsport Police Department (KPD).

The police department said officers became involved in a high-speed pursuit with Donovan L. Diggs, 20, after they found him in the area of Eastman Road and Fort Henry Drive.

Diggs was wanted for attempted first-degree murder, according to KPD.

The pursuit ended on John B. Dennis Highway near Moreland Drive when Diggs’ vehicle was “forcefully stopped.”

Diggs was flown to a hospital for treatment of his injuries. A 16-year-old passenger was also taken to a hospital for what were believed to be minor injuries, according to KPD.

No one else was injured in the incident.
