Man found guilty of child sex crimes by Washington County, Virginia jury

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Va. (WJHL) — A man was convicted by a jury in Washington County, Virginia, of sexually abusing a minor.

According to a release from the Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney of Washington County, Virginia, Armando Navarro Morales was convicted of the following after a two-and-a-half-day trial:

The crimes reportedly happened on Jan. 28, 2024, in Washington County, Virginia, and involved a minor.

“My office continues to be committed to the prosecution of criminals that sexually abuse and hurt children,” Cumbow stated in the release. “When we have the evidence, we will do our utmost to obtain convictions on sexual predators. At the sentencing hearing, my officer will ask the judge to impose a lengthy sentence. Thank you to the jury that convicted the defendant. I also have the utmost respect for the young woman who came to court, faced her abuser and helped the commonwealth obtain a conviction.”

Morales’ sentencing is set for summer 2025.
